Invest in your Knight Graduation

The PTSO and administration of Nolensville High School are partnering to raise additional funds to continue hosting our graduation ceremony on the campus of NHS. We feel it is important for you to understand how funding works for graduation ceremonies here in Williamson County. In the past, NHS and several other WCS high schools have traditionally shared the cost of using the Williamson County Ag Center for their graduation. While that is still expensive, it does help that the costs are shared, however, it does mean that you loose some of the personal touch of the graduation experience when you have to quickly exit the building to allow for other schools to have their ceremony.

During the height of the pandemic, the Williamson County Ag Center and other locations used by WC schools were not available and graduations were held on campuses. This turned out to be a favorable outcome for many if not most of our schools and those sharing the AG center especially felt the difference. Since schools are no longer wanting to use the AG center this does not make for a cost effective event held there and it makes sense to host it on campus which is what we have heard as the overwhelming want with parents. Hosting graduation on our football field has been absolutely amazing and we look forward to continuing the tradition.

In being transparent, the cost to be on the football field cannot be covered by the $100 required graduation fee paid by Senior parents. (Fee is set by school board and we cannot increase that fee). That amount is just enough to cover caps & gowns, diplomas & diploma covers, programs and maybe flowers. Costs of goods and services have continued to increase which means the cost to host graduation on campus has continued to increase. Some of the costs include the stage, chairs, security, live streaming, sound, screens and decorations. Understand, this will be an ongoing financial need to continue to host graduations on campus. We hope that this is an initiative that you will want to be a part of.
